Does the officer receive credits for this course?
Yes, participants will be awarded a certificate of completion, and for Florida officers, this course counts towards their mandatory retraining hours.
Focus:
This course is essential for law enforcement professionals, focusing on grappling techniques and holds specific to police work in the field. Our current climate demands proficiency in ground encounter skills.
Curriculum:
Designed to comply with federal and state use of force laws, the curriculum includes:
Transitioning to control and handcuff positions systematically
Takedowns, team takedowns, and ground control
Defense techniques for small and confined spaces
Contact communication, handcuffing, de-escalation, and weapon retention
Training Methodology:
Systematic and effective for skill retention, with exercises conducted both with and without duty gear to understand gear impacts.
Post-Course Support:
E-mail and phone support for queries related to defensive tactics and instructor guidance.
Equipment Requirements:
BDU/tactical pants, duty belt/external vest as used by your agency
Training firearm (blue gun), provided if unavailable
Wrestling shoes or smooth soled shoes (No boots on the mat)
